Richard Gilbert qualified from the University of the West of England in 2007 with First Class Honours. He began his career in Bridgend, Wales, and moved onto a position in Lincolnshire. Within a year, he returned to his roots in Salisbury to pursue a career in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, specialising in musculoskeletal & spinal conditions, acupuncture, spinal manipulation and sports massage.
Since being back in Salisbury, Richard spent time working alongside Rheumatology consultants developing his experience assessing and treating clients with rheumatological conditions.
He is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing squash, tennis and going to the gym. Unfortunately, a severe knee injury retired Richard from playing rugby. He consequently switched to a pitchside role carrying out physiotherapy for the Salisbury RFC 2nds team. This allowed him to work closely in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of young and old athletes.
“Very glad I went to see Richard at Sarum Physio. The service was professional with quick diagnosis, effective treatment and a detailed onward plan to help my recuperation. I would definitely recommend Richard to anyone in need.” Tom Pottage
